Careers
The software isthe easy half.
Anyone can demonstrate a planning board in a meeting room. Getting one used by a planning team that has run the same spreadsheet for nine years, in a factory that cannot stop producing while you do it, is a different job. That job is what we hire for.
Bangladesh, with work across Vietnam and the region.
What the work is
You will spend real time on a factory floor.
Our customers are apparel and textile manufacturers. The systems we deploy — planning, procurement, ERP, cutting, shop-floor execution, compliance — are used by planners, merchandisers, cutting masters, line supervisors and quality checkers, most of whom did not ask for a new system and are measured on output today.
So the work is not only technical. It is sitting with a planning head to understand why he keeps a private spreadsheet, finding out that the reason is good, and designing around it. It is noticing that two systems define a working minute differently before that difference becomes an argument in a management meeting.
Some of it is deployed alongside consultants from our partners, which means working with people who have done the same thing in factories on the other side of the world and being useful next to them.
A stalled deployment is almost never a software problem.

Where people work
Five kinds of work, one industry.
Most people here move between more than one of these. A deployment needs all of them at once.
Solution consulting
Understanding how a factory runs before anything is sold, then staying through implementation to make what was promised true on the floor.
Implementation and support
Configuring, training, go-live and the months after it — on site with planners, cutting masters and line supervisors, sometimes alongside our partners’ consultants.
Product and engineering
Building the software we own, ProactivePlan and Procure: the planning engine, the board, the integrations, and the details a planner notices in the first minute.
Planning and industrial engineering
The domain itself — capacity, line balancing, SMV, learning curves and critical path — turned into rules a system can follow and a planner can trust.
Data and reporting
Reporting on Microsoft Power BI and the data underneath it, so that a figure in a management pack agrees with the figure on the floor.
What tends to matter
What we find ourselves looking for.
Not a checklist, and not a substitute for talking. These are the things that have actually distinguished people who did well here.
- Curiosity about how things are made
- You do not need an apparel background — several of us did not start with one. You do need to want to know why a marker matters and what a bundle is, because the vocabulary of the product is the vocabulary of the floor.
- Willingness to be corrected by a practitioner
- The cutting master has been doing it for twenty years. When the system disagrees with him, the useful first assumption is that the system is missing something.
- Precision about numbers
- Most of what we sell rests on a figure agreeing with another figure. People who are comfortable saying "I do not know where that number came from" are worth more than people who are confident about it.
- Patience with change management
- Go-live is the start. Whether a system is still in use in three years is decided in the months afterwards, by people who keep turning up.
- Travel, genuinely
- Factories are where the work is. Some weeks are on site, sometimes abroad, sometimes at short notice when something goes wrong.
- Writing that survives being forwarded
- Most of what we produce is read by someone who was not in the room — a specification, a review, a note to a customer. Clear writing is not a bonus skill here.
There is no form.
Write to us with what you have worked on and what you would want to work on here. If there is something now we will say so, and if there is not we will say that too rather than leave you waiting.
